Week 37 Ireland

24 Dec

Dear Family and Friends,

Well where should I begin? First and foremost… I am staying here in Dublin for another 6 weeks!! And Sister Huntsman is staying with me! We are so relieved we aren’t getting moved around right before Christmas! We were over at Babs house last night for dinner and we were so nervous for moves call! It seriously is as bad as waiting for a mission call! hahaha so nerve racking! (Oh and an update on past companions…Sis Rob is training again and Sis Ricks is a Sister Training Leader! I’m so proud! And Sis Brand is staying in Aberdeen) And as for the Finglas ward, Elder Andrews is moving to Clonsilla (still in the Dublin Stake) to be Zone Leader with Elder Lee! And Elder Lauricella is getting a new comp that I don’t know ha. So it’ll be so great!
Well we’ve had a load of miracles this week. I love all of the people we are teaching! It is so fun for me to know these individuals and their unique stories.
Raymond is getting BAPTIZED on December 22nd!!! Stephen is going to baptize him and it is going to be such a good day! Ray is awesome and he loves the church so much! 3 weeks ago he didn’t even believe in God… it is so incredible to see the change in him! He told us about a really cool experience he had and I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing it with all of you 🙂 He stopped drinking tea cold turkey (like 15 cups a day to none! Also without us even asking him to) and one day he was sitting watching TV and he started to have withdraws like to the point of shaking. So he decided to turn the tele off and say a prayer. He asked God for the strength and power to resist the temptation and to get through the withdraws. Then, only a minute after he said amen, Stephen phoned him to see how he was doing. He also told him that felt a prompting to phone him! Raymond instantly felt the spirit and knew it was an answer to prayer! He has been doing fantastic! He loves the Book of Mormon and has such a desire to understand it.
The ward Christmas party was wonderful! The decorations were beautiful, the food was yummy, and Santa came! Even the primary kids put on a short play. There was a short program at the beginning where they read the Christmas story and there were a few musical numbers. One of them being Silent Night sung by us! It well! Christy and her two boys were able to come! They had a good time and we are going to see them this week.
I love you all so much! Thank you everyone for your sweet emails! Thank you for all the support! I can’t believe I am almost half way through my mission! It goes by way too fast and there is so much more for me to learn!
I hope everyone is preparing for the Holidays! Christmas is just around the corner! I am so grateful for the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Love Sister Jones
